The Catechism
Asked and answered, in the same order, for the rest of a life.
← the OratoriumWhere every question stands
Plain: not yet met. Pale gold: learning. Pale green: known (three weeks between askings). Green: kept (four months and more). Nothing is ever finished: the longest gap is two years, and then it comes round again.
Nobody writes a catechism from nothing: a household selects and simplifies. Leave a question out, or write the little answer a five-year-old says beside the full one, so the youngest answers in the same place in the same order and grows into the long form instead of graduating out of a separate book.
This is a convenience, not a lock: anyone signed in as a parent can turn it off here. It holds for this household on every device once the household's catechism row exists (see the sync line below); until then, on this device.
New questions come in order, never shuffled. The evening says two at a time; the flash cards may run ahead or behind.
